Tushan Temple & Tea Experience
Begin at one of Chongqing’s longstanding Buddhist sites, connected with local stories of Yu the Great and the Tushan family. Then sit down in a hillside teahouse to slow the pace, taste tea with more attention and learn how preparation, hospitality and conversation give Chinese tea culture its meaning. The Five Elements begin here as a guide to relationships and change, rather than a lesson to memorize.
Laojundong Taoist Temple & Standing Meditation
Explore a Taoist complex built into the slopes of Nanshan with Listening, who introduces ideas such as wu wei, qi and the relationship between people and nature in accessible language. Among temple halls, grottoes and cliffside paths, try a guided introduction to standing meditation and notice how a deceptively simple posture changes your attention to balance, breath and stillness.

Tianyi Traditional Chinese Medicine Centre
Mid afternoon · A cultural introduction to Chinese approaches to the bodyStep inside a traditional medicine setting to understand the vocabulary that many Chinese families still use when talking about the body, seasons and daily care. Learn how concepts such as yin and yang, meridians, pulse reading and moxibustion fit together within this tradition. Any demonstration is presented as cultural interpretation, not personal medical advice or treatment.
Tushan Wangfu Rock & China’s Water Stories
Late afternoon · Adaptation, engineering and life beside the riversReturn to the landscape around Tushan to hear the legend of Yu the Great and explore how managing water became part of China’s cultural imagination. Listening connects the story with the principles behind Dujiangyan and later debates around large water projects. Dujiangyan and the Three Gorges Dam are discussed here as examples; they are not visited during this tour.
Chaotianmen Gate & The Art of War
Evening · Read Chongqing through rivers, gates and strategic terrainFinish where the Yangtze and Jialing rivers meet. Use the former Chaotianmen Gate, Chongqing’s historic wall system and the surviving story of Tongyuan Gate to understand how terrain shaped trade and defense. Listening introduces ideas associated with The Art of War as a way to read the city’s strategic geography, bringing the day back to modern Chongqing rather than ending with an abstract lecture.
