Had an awesome full day tour with Kojima. It was great to learn about Chongqing’s history, food, and culture. We were able to visit some incredible spots that I would have never found on my own. He is a fantastic guide who’s very knowledgeable about Chongqing (and movies too, make sure you’ve seen a few Nolan films 🤣). He takes great pictures which will leave you with lasting memories of the city. I’ll definitely book with him the next time i’m back.

I really enjoyed our curated walk to explore the night views of Chongqing. Daisy was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I can tell that she loves the city and shares this live through the tour. Recommend this option if you just arrived and have a spare evening to explore a different side of Chongqing.

Koji has a great attention to detail and you can tell how passionate he is about his work. We loved the nerdy talk, amazing tips and locations that we went to. He went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience ever and I can't imagine having a better time. The little parting souvenir he prepared was such a nice touch! We covered so many locations, this is one of the best tours I've ever been on and I would definitely book again next time!

The Cyber City in a Day Tour was absolutely incredible, and a huge part of that was our guide, Kojima, an absolute legend! He didn’t make us feel like tourists at all! He showed us Chongqing like a local and took us to places we would never have discovered on our own. We ended up spending the day together until 00:30, even having hotpot together!

Another huge plus is that Kojima is also an amazing photographer and videographer. He took some incredible photos and videos of us throughout the day, which made the experience even more special.

It genuinely felt less like a tour and more like a friend showing us around his city. An unforgettable experience, me and my wife highly recommend it!

We had the most incredible day exploring Chongqin with Journey by Jackson. The communication was always prompt and our guide Kayliegh was so amazimg she accommodated us so well with few addition on the tour. We enjoyed exploring Chonqin it really is a cyber punk 8D city. This city is phenomonal should be on everyone travel bucketlist we are so happy we were able to see so much in a day with Kaylleight Thank you so much we reallyed enjoyed her company. If you are visiting Chomgqin do this tour with Jackson as this city does require a guide as it is hilly and multi level roads.

My private tour with the wonderful tour guide Listening was better than I could ever have imagined! I gained a brilliant insight into Chongqing as a city, its history, culture and people. I felt completely comfortable at all times and, for those nearly 10 hours, I forgot I was even a tourist, I cant recommend this highly enough!!! I had an amazing experience of combining the night tour with the professional photography option and I couldn’t recommend it more! Jackson made it such a fun and worthwhile tour!

I don’t even know where to start with this tour. It was one of the most amazing days of my life and I have nothing but good things to say. My tour guide Kojima is a very smart and knowledgeable man who grew up here in Chongqing. He is also a photographer with professional equipment which made my pictures pop.
He took me through the cyberpunk vertical city, to the monorail building, an amazing noodle shop for lunch, to a brightly lit mall, through Mountain City and where he grew up, to the river banks, and a few more locations for viewing that we keep secret so they don’t get ruined by other tourists.
His English is perfect, his knowledge is vast, and we used his car to get from place to place in comfort. Every stop we made was exciting, personalized, accessible etc. He even brought me back to my hotel mid tour so I could change clothes after a hit afternoon walk.
I also had the opportunity to meet Jackson, and he is a true gentleman with a vast knowledge of the city and photography.
This tour was the best and most memorable of my life. If you’re reading this review and have any doubts about taking this tour take this as a sign to book your tour right now. I’m still in shock at how amazing the tour was as I go back through my phone looking at the amazing pictures Kojima took of me all over the city during the day and period

Great and complete tour of Chongqing. Listening, our guide was amazing. Giving always hood information and helping us every moment. Ghe Van they arrange for us was very nice and clean. The tour is so complete and long that we had a rest in the afternokn at the hotel before being pickup again for going to watch the hingya cave ilumination at sunrise.

We had an absolutely fantastic time with Journey with Jackson in Chongqing. Our guide, Kojima, was outstanding.
From the very beginning, he made us feel welcome with his friendly personality, great sense of humour, and personal approach. What made this tour truly unique was that he shared old photos and videos of Chongqing from his own childhood and showed us how those same places have changed over the years. It gave the city a completely different perspective and made the experience feel authentic and personal rather than just another sightseeing tour.
He took us to many fascinating places, including hidden gems that we would never have discovered on our own. The tour felt local, individual, and far away from the typical tourist routes. He was easy to understand, approachable, and always happy to answer our questions. Our children enjoyed the tour just as much as we did, which says a lot.
Although the famous drone show was unfortunately cancelled that evening, it certainly didn’t spoil the experience. We had an amazing time in Chongqing and this tour was one of the highlights of our trip.

She looked after us very well and even bought some zongzi for us to enjoy as part of the Dragon Boat Festival. It was an eye opening immersion tour of Chongqing seen through the eyes of a local which is revealing and rich.
Daisy has a bubbly personality, making the tour lively. She took us to a secretly tucked away restaurant for a local hotpot lunch. It was not only delicious but a great experience to eat like a true local. Her pink Tesla was very comfortable and we liked the experiencing the self-driving mode.

We went on a full-day tour yesterday in Chongqing with Kojima as our guide. It was detailed and personal, and we could really feel his genuine love for his city. He was easygoing and fun to spend the day with, and we got to see so much. We had a great day and would happily recommend him and this tour to anyone visiting Chongqing.

After researching Chongqing, I realized its complex layout would be impossible to navigate on our own. We can highly recommend this tour! The contact with Jackson was very straightforward, he took our special requests into account and took care of everything! The drive to 816 project and Wulong National Park was also very pleasant with the driver and well planned, so we had a very nice memorable day!

Kayleigh exudes both professionalism and knowledge. She is passionate about her home and you feel that passion throughout the trip. She is truly a great guide and person. I only had a couple hours of sleep after a late flight but it didn’t feel like it during this tour. It felt like going out for the day with a good friend. We had an absolutely fantastic full-day tour of Chongqing with Daisy and Christine.

From the moment we were picked up in their beautiful and comfortable car, they made us feel completely at ease. Traveling with an 8-year-old can sometimes be challenging, but Daisy and Christine were incredibly thoughtful and patient, always making sure my daughter was comfortable and enjoying herself throughout the day.

What made this tour special was the perfect balance between seeing Chongqing's iconic sights and experiencing local life. Daisy shared fascinating insights into Chinese culture, traditions, and everyday life, helping us understand the city on a much deeper level than we could have on our own. We also had the chance to try authentic Chongqing hotpot, which was a real highlight.

More than a typical guided tour, the whole day felt like exploring the city with good friends. We drank coffee together, enjoyed lunch, took plenty of photos, shared lots of laughs, and discovered both famous landmarks and hidden local gems.

Our 2 days in Chongqing was nothing less than amazing. The Hospitality and attentiveness from Listening and driver Kang Kang was 5 star. Listening was like a story teller when she explained the history of Chongqing, never a dull moment. Her warm, kind and genuine nature towards our group of 7 especially to my 8 year old was truly appreciated by all of us. It’s almost like having an old friend with us. Kang Kang was a careful driver and his car was top notch. Very clean and spacious. We will definitely come back again and request for Listening as our guide.

Kayleigh was a great tour guide. She picked us up from our hotel and took us to some of the coolest places in Chongqing, places we would never have been able to find on our own.

We had the BEST time on our day tour with Daisy, she went over and beyond to make sure we got to see Chong Qing. I have an allergy to certain food and she made sure I was accommodated and comfortable with everything we ate (plus everything was soooo good). If you have limited time in Chongqing, we would absolutely recommend doing the tour.

Listening took us to places we would have not known about and that was not on google maps. She also introduced us to new dishes we would not have thought to try if it hadn’t been for her recommendation.

We also enjoyed her telling us about the history of different places, my husband loves history and he really appreciated this! It was great to have an understanding of history from a Chinese perspective as opposed to a Western one :) I also loved the fact that she took the time to show us local perfume shops and other more contemporary places. I got a few souvenirs that I’ll cherish.

We enjoyed the pace of the tour. We loved walking but liked that it was broken up with a bit of driving as well. It was very fun to drive on some of the very high expressways and then get even higher by walking up a pagoda on a hill.

Overall, it’s a great experience to have been shown around the city by a local!

We had an absolutely amazing tour in Chongqing with Jackson, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our entire China trip. He took us to incredible hidden spots that we never would have found on our own, and the whole experience felt authentic, fun, and really thoughtfully planned.

What made it even more special was that Jackson himself — the owner of the tour company — came personally to guide us, which we truly appreciated. He was so kind, welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about showing people the real Chongqing.

We are a group of 7 visiting from Singapore and have selecred Jackson's company for a private customized tour. Firstly, communicating with jackson was easy and all we had to do was tell him the dates and places of interest and he does all the heavy lifting. Given that he has a substantial amount of followers on tiktok also great boosted the trust that we had. The whole process leading up to the actual tour was fuss free!

During the actual tour itself, we had Kang as our driver and Listening as our main guide for 5 days. There were a few hiccups with my family on the first day that caused everyone a little distress, but I would like to give extra thanks to Listening for being so professional, patient and having empathy towards the elderly in my group. There's too many plus points but some noticeable moments include her holding my mums hands up and down stairs when it rained, her helping my wife and I to find halal food, and her trying her best to manage the time (as my family has 0 time management). We liked her so much that we requested her to join us for dinner on most days!

I'd also like to mention Kang - who was our driver. He was exceptional as he had gone above and beyond. Knowing how difficult my dad is, he took it in himself to try and help manage my dad too by talking to him, showing him around etc. He too had so much patience like Listening and we were very happy to have him as our driver.

Another mention is Mia, who was our guide for half a day for the Dazu rock carvings. She is exceptionally knowledgeable about this area and was very clear and professional in her explanations on the history. We have learned alot in just that half a day and would like to thank her!

Finally, Jackson led the tour on our last day. Though we did nothing much, Jackson still showed us to some spots and explained to us a little history of areas and was very flexible in the day's itinerary since it was our last day, he didn't want us to rush and just do what we wanted to (I.e shopping).

Overall , the trip was exceptional and price was reasonable. We will definitely be back and will definitely choose Journey With Jackson again!

The tour with Kayleigh was so wonderful and engaging that I barely felt tired, even after climbing all those maze stairs. It honestly felt like strolling around with a knowledgable friend in their hometown — super chill, insightful, and definitely not something you could learn on your own. Highly recommend!!

We had an awesome 2 days with Kojima, doing the City and Mountain tours. We were especially honoured he was able to take the time between his busy game development studio plans to show us around Chongqing! He was supremely knowledgeable, showing us around to restaurants, shortcuts, and sights just like a local. He even planned out hidden 'Easter eggs' for us! But seriously he was patient, flexible and friendly, showing us around and sharing pictures/videos like we were visiting an old friend. We definitely made some great memories here and couldn't recommend it highly enough for anyone else!

Kojima went the extra mile to take us on an amazing and exciting tour. He took the time to get to know us and modified the tour to fully be in line with our interests, taking us to lots of special spots and many hidden gems to avoid the crowds. He also took wonderful photos of us, took us to a great lunch restaurant, helped us buy some items we needed and was very patient. We didn’t feel rushed and it wasn’t too slow either, we would highly recommend this tour.

Great one day tour for those who don’t have much time in Chongqing and want to see the highlights! Listening is very knowledgeable about the city and we enjoyed our conversations with her. She’s also very loving and patient with our young kids.

Alright, I’m not one to usually write long detailed reviews about much but this was needed. From the moment I reached out to Jackson thru Instagram and then WhatsApp - he was very understanding of our requirements as we eat only halal and have a 6 month old. We also requested for photos to be taken and he suggested Kojima to be our guide. It was overall a very smooth process talking to Jackson. Now onto Kojima - he picked us up from our hotel, gave us a little skyline lessons of Chongqing with a few jokes about the Trump Towers haha! He drove us around to all the must see spots as he knew we had a 6 month old with us, so traveling with a stroller and using a carrier when convenient was a nice touch from him. He took us to this awesome coffee shop near the “boardwalk” which was great. In between all the scenic spots he suggested we watch the drone show from a specific sushi restaurant he knew about. He made the reservation for us which was amazing because let me tell you, the view from that restaurant was ridiculously amazing. I’ll share some photos here. We ended the night with Kojimas secret rooftop spot which was a great touch. What an amazing way to end the night. I just can’t emphasize enough how kind and understanding Kojima was towards our 6 month old. He helped us with our strollers, diaper changes and much more. I can’t recommend him enough. He knew we weren’t trying to walk much and avoid the busy crowd during golden week so he took us to all the right spots to be able to see the scenery without being in the crowd. Hongya Cave, Liziba station, Crown Escalator and much more we were able to view without being in the crowd of thousands. Thank you so much for this. We wouldn’t be able to enjoy Chongqing at all without Kojima and Jackson’s help.

The tour was amazing! Listening is a very kind and knowledgeable guide. She tries to giv you the best experience in the city. I visited during the Golden Week, which means the city was very busy. Despite that, Listening created an amazing experience showing the best that Chongqing has to offer.

The tour started on time. We were picked up by a very well maintained car and a driver and tour guide named Kojima. We felt very safe always. He adjusted the tour based on what we have and havent done. He also adjusted the tour because we had elderly with us. He is very nice and accomodating. He took great photos as well he always provided top service and always checked up on us. He ended on time and even helped is with all our questions. Keep up the good work. Kojima is a fantastic, personable and humorous guide!! English is a foreign language to Kojima but he communicated superbly with us. We enjoy walking and exploring various neighbourhoods so without him, we would have missed all the nuances, historical information, and folklore which made the Shibati area so charming. In addition to the Mountain Walk, bomb shelter, Jiefangbei area, Chopstick Building, and Hongyadong, other extra special experiences were eating spicy noodles at a local shop and eating ice cream with chili oil. Koji shared his love of photography by taking photos for us-a truly thoughtful way to create lasting memories! Do not hesitate to book this with Kojima!

This was our 2nd tour with Kojima and every moment was fantastic, from navigating the complex Kuixing Building, Baixiang Jie, riding the Crown Escalator, riding the Liziba, experiencing the labyrinth of road networks, among other things. What makes Kojima a superb guide is his patience, humour, knowledge, and the extras such as taking us to a local noodle shop and having us enjoy tasty green tea ice cream. Again, as in our 1st tour with him, he shared his passion for photography by taking photos for us- deeply appreciative of that!! Every moment is a worthy one! Listening delivered an engaging and well-paced one-day Chongqing tour, starting with an on-time 11:00 AM hotel pickup and a lively introduction to Jiefangbei’s vibrant downtown energy. The itinerary balanced iconic sights—like Kuixinglou’s surreal “22nd floor” plaza and the monorail slicing through a residential building—with lesser-known perspectives, including hidden photo spots and underground city networks that revealed Chongqing’s layered, vertical design. Food stops were flexible and thoughtful, offering everything from classic Xiaomian to adventurous other local specialties. The afternoon blended culture and scenery beautifully, from E’Ling Park’s panoramic views to the creative Testbed 2 district, before ending with a stunning night skyline at Dimond Plaza. Overall, Listening’s knowledge, organization, and attention to detail made the experience both seamless and memorable.

Kojima was an excellent guide from start to finish. We were well fed, well entertained, well informed and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was a perfect introduction to exploring the gorgeousness of the Chongqing mountain and cityscape. Jackson and his team are knowledgable, professional and know Chongqing and the surrounding area very well. I was visiting with a group of 7 for 6 days in early March, 2026. Jackson and his team accommodated our wishes to see everything there was to see in Chongqing! Jackson created bespoke tours for us as well as arranging for us to visit the Wulong Karst Mountain National Park and Dazu Rock Carving sites. During planing, Jackson was easy to communicate with and made all logistics seamless including payment for the tours. Jackson and his team picked us up at our hotel in pristine and modern transportation with a expert driver, gave us great restaurant options and were very necessary at bridging translation and cultural divides that can occur while traveling as a foreigner in China. All in all, our group were more than satisfied with Jackson and team’s tour services. Jackson and team not only met but exceeded our expectations. Such an enjoyable Cybercity-in-1-day tour, where so much can be seen and done, in a day! Yet it is so well paced, there is time to enjoy and appreciate each and every location. The native knowledge and perspective from a Chongqing-born guide is truly invaluable. Kojima had been a great company throughout the long day. It was a bonus that he had his professional camera on him, and we were shot like movie stars. On an unexpected additional stop to Mountain city alley, Kojima showed us the exact spots where he lived, played and went to school when he was a kid. Very meaningful indeed.

No regrets taking this tour. Pre tour communication with Jackson himself was clear and fast. We had to catch a train to Chengdu immediately after tour, he advised us on right train to take and solved our luggage issue. During the tour our guide Kojima did a great job explaining the sights and catering to our needs. He also handled the car like a pro, driving us around safely. Car itself was comfortable for all 4 of us plus luggage. Overall highly recommend a tour with Journey with Jackson. We wouldn’t have seen so many interesting aspects of Chongqing and understand it better if not for the tour. Great job Jackson and Kojima!

Kojima was a very knowledgeable guide. Polite, with a smile all the time, he went the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable. He was also very kind to accommodate our requests.

Our guide Kojima was great! He picked us up from the hotel and showed great places around the city. As he is born in Chongqing, he was able to show us his childhood neighborhood, which was amazing. He took us to the highlights mentioned, but also one of his favourite restaurants and a great rooftop view. Even though he had a tour the following day, he still went out of his was to show us extra stuff. We had a lot of general China questions he was happy to answer as well. I really recommend the tour!

We loved our walking tour, we saw and learnt so much. Our guide Listening was very knowledgable and so nice. We went to alot of places that I don't think we would have found on our own. The multi level local neigbourhoods and river/city view points were impressive. We learnt alot about Chongqing's history and current way of life.

We took the Wulong Mountain tour, which included a visit to the 816 Nuclear Military Plant, and I have to say the day was a complete success. The landscape away from the metropolis is beautiful and shows a completely different side of Chongqing.

After visiting the Wulong Three Natural Bridges, we came across a small family celebration. Elias asked us if we would like to have lunch with the family. We agreed and asked if we could join them for a meal in exchange for a small donation. They were very happy to have us, and Elias translated everything perfectly. We will never forget this unique experience.

Through Journey with Jackson we (group of 3) managed to schedule a tour to see the outskirts/countryside of Chongqing. Our Tourguide - Elias, picked us up at 7am & organized all entry ticket fees etc. One way drive around 2h30min. He speaks good english & a bit of german which made it easy for us to communicate with him. Elias recommended some food spots on the way which we tried & they were excellent. He was very attentive & exceeded our expectations. Wulong was very nice & the nuclear bunker was interesting to see.This is an easy tour, so it can also be done with kids.
He brought us back to our hotel around 7:30pm. Plan-in up to 12h - it’s fully worth it.

Listening is an awesome tour guide and the entire Mountain City tour has been designed perfectly for seeing the many corners of Chongqing in a day. I really enjoyed my time learning about Chongqing from her and can tell how much she loves her city. Highly recommend!

The best tour guide I've had speaks excellent English and travels around. He shows you all the must-see spots. It costs a bit, but it's worth it.

For our first visit to Chongqing, we booked the Cuber City Tour with "Journey with Jackson," and it was, without a doubt, the best decision we could have made - We’re a group of 3 first timers to Chongqing. We booked the tour for our first full day we had in this city.

From the initial easy booking process to the final drop-off, everything was seamless. Our guide, Kojima, met us at our hotel and immediately made us feel welcome. His friendly and knowledgeable presence set the tone for an exceptional day.

The greatest strength of this experience is its complete flexibility. The tour is fully customizable based on your interests. There was no fixed schedule or feeling of being rushed. Kojima expertly adapted the day to what we wanted to see, eat and do, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in each location. He had a few must see spots which he showed us.

Kojima went above and beyond. He didn't just guide us—he shared the day with us, joining for both lunch and dinner. He selected local spots and recommended dishes he thought we'd enjoy.
As a native who grew up in the heart of Chongqing, his insights were really interesting. He has a gift for blending rich historical context with the city's striking modern energy, all while being incredibly engaging and fun to be around.

We started at 11 a.m., and the day was so enjoyable that we didn't return until around 10 p.m. We also added the photo service, which I highly recommend. Kojima has a great eye and provided us with a beautiful collection of professional-quality photos, capturing the essence of our journey.

Price is absolutely fair for the time spent and quality provided. Alipay/WePay etc works. We paid an initial minor deposit - rest at the end of the tours. Thanks to Kojima, Jackson and the Team for making it happen.

My teenage sons and I gave this tour with Jackson to their dad for his birthday and at its conclusion he said it was his best birthday present ever. Jackson helped us navigate his incredible city and took us to parts of it we would never have found without him. He was super friendly, thoughtful (organised a special lunchtime birthday cake at no extra cost) and informative. We couldn’t possibly ask for more in a tour guide. He deserves six stars out of five and we are already recommending that friends and family come to Chongqing because of him. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience!

Jackson also took the best photos of us on our adventures which he generously shared afterwards as part of the whole excellent package.

The tour and Listening were amazing! Listening was sooooo informative and fun. She was amazing with our son - they became besties right away. Listening shares so much interestjng facts and context to our tour and brought a depth of knowledge in response to all our questions. The tour was impressive, we saw so many amazing sites in the city that we never would have found on our own. It was great to move around by car, train, bus, and walking so that we could maximize the experience and see as much as possible. We truly hope to return to Chongqing again someday and would love to do another tour with you!

I found this tour through TikTok after seeing Jackson share content about how fascinating and intentional the city’s structure is. His videos immediately stood out for how thoughtfully he explained the city, and they inspired me to book this experience while traveling with my parents. I am so glad I did.

Service and overall experience:
From the very beginning, Listening created an incredibly warm and welcoming atmosphere. We were greeted thoughtfully, even given a small goodie bag, and the entire tour felt unhurried and personal. Listening took the time to make sure everyone felt included, answered questions with care, and even stayed a bit later so the experience did not feel rushed. That sense of intentionality made the tour feel special. Often this matters just as much as the content itself, and it truly elevated the experience.

Information and storytelling:
The information was exceptional. It was clear, engaging, and easy to digest without ever feeling simplified. Listening has an incredible ability to weave together history, urban design, and cultural context in a way that feels intelligent and approachable. What stood out most was how seamlessly the explanations connected historical background with modern relevance and pop culture. It kept both my parents and me fully engaged throughout.

Tour stops and pacing:
The stops were extremely well curated and thoughtfully sequenced. Nothing felt like filler, and the pacing was perfect. By the end, I felt genuinely enriched and completely satisfied. 10 out of 10.

I contacted the Journey with Jackson team a few days before our trip, and they quickly, kindly helped me confirm a date and time for the Mountain City tour. Our larger family of five required a vehicle rental. It was great to experience the luxury of the VOYAH electric car. Our guide Kojima arrived early and drove very safely. Although we spent a full day with Kojima and would normally be tired, we left the tour full of energy and a newfound love for Chongqing. My mom, who grew up in China, even said that Chongqing is now her favorite city in China. Kojima took us to so many relaxing, beautiful sites that we would never have found on our own. He brought an imaginative, playful energy to the tour, and we loved hearing about his childhood stories. The lunch, coffee stop, and dinner were all delicious. This was the last day of our family's trip to Chongqing, and I can't think of a better way to have spent it!

Thank you for a fantastic tour of Chongqing from a local perspective — we really appreciated getting a view of daily life outside of the super touristy areas. Seeing the many layers of the city was a fascinating way to learn about the history and culture of Chongqing. Emma was an excellent and knowledgeable guide who pointed out many interesting tidbits and photo opportunities along the tour route. She was very accommodating and considerate of our needs throughout the day. Our guide Listening Li was so lively, warm and attentive! She held onto my mother-in-law’s arm to help her move around as she has mobility issues. After we said our goodbyes, we ran into trouble at the train station when there was a mistake about one person’s passport. Listening came straight back immediately and helped us out. We are really grateful for this tour and had a great time even though it was a rainy day.
